Our History
In July of 1982, New England Bible Church held its
first service. Through divine appointment, God
brought
Pastor Chip
Thompson to Andover, Massachusetts where he met
several local families who had formed a Bible study
and were looking for a pastor. Pastor Chip felt God
calling him to plant a church in the Merrimack
Valley and moved his family from Florida to
Massachusetts to start NEBC.
NEBC met for several years at the Heritage Green
Clubhouse in North Andover until it outgrew
that building and moved to the Knights of Columbus
Hall in Andover. After God closed the door on buying
that property, the church moved to a classic, old
brick building in downtown Andover.
The church grew and many lives were changed. As the
number of members increased and our meeting space
decreased, God allowed the church to purchase 11
acres of land in Andover. The people of the church
began to give and the dream of raising a building on
that land became a reality. Through countless hours
of prayer and planning, the church building was
designed, built, dedicated, and put into use in the
Fall of 1994.
Though the church is and always will be a body of
people who follow Jesus, it was incredible to
finally have a permanent physical home to call our
own.

Our Vision
NEBC has continued to grow and God has blessed. Our vision is set upon expanding our physical building to
accommodate our growing church attendance and to
enhance and expand the ministry of NEBC in the
community. Since God has worked in miraculous ways
to provide NEBC with 11 acres of land, it is our
responsibility to utilize it to its full potential
as good stewards of this gift.
During NEBC's 20th Anniversary Celebration in 2002, plans were
unveiled for a
Family Life Center. This building
would expand our current facility to include a full
size gymnasium, classrooms, offices and a commercial
kitchen. Our current programs including Awana, VBS (Vacation Bible
School), junior high
and senior high
ministries, and Sunday School would benefit from the
new facility. In addition the new space would
enhance our ability to host special events. We look
forward to seeing the Family Life Center completed
in the near future!

What type of church is NEBC?
First and foremost, NEBC is more
than just a church building—it is a dynamic group of
people excited about growing in their faith and loving
others. NEBC is an independent, non-denominational
church that welcomes those who have never been to
church before and those who have grown up in the
church.
What are the worship services like?
We want our services to be an
encouragement to you! Our services combine
contemporary and traditional music with
straightforward and practical teaching from the Bible.
Childcare is provided during
our Sunday morning and evening services.
Come as you are! We want you to feel at home at NEBC.
What programs does NEBC have to offer
for me and my family?
NEBC offers a number of programs
and outreaches for you and your family from nursery
care for newborns to our ladies’ senior fellowship!
We hope that you will find our church to be a great
place to get to know others while getting to know God
and His Word.
